Welcome to our 41st Annual Production Sale. Even though the cattle market has pulled back off its recent all-time highs, it is still a great time to be in the cattle business. As this market fluctuates it has never been more important to have quality angus genetics. We are proud of the fact that we have endured 61 years in the registered Angus business and we are holding our 41st annual bull sale. Throughout this time our goals have remained much the same. We demand cows that are easy fleshing, have good udders and breed back on time. We cull hard on disposition, performance and fertility. We work extremely hard to produce bulls that will calve easy and at the same time not sacrifice growth.

We feel this year’s set of bulls is the deepest, most uniform set we have ever offered. Through a more rigorous AI program and heavy culling, we have been able to improve the depth of quality in our cow herd. We have culled the bottom 40 percent or our bull crop to ensure the best product for our customers. Through sound breeding decision we have been able to raise bulls that have more performance (no creep) and are just as structurally sound (no hoof trimming). 62% of the bulls offered are ranked in the top 25% for CED and BW. Along with 74% ranking top 25% for dollar weaning value.

The bulls are developed at the Hould Feedlot near Malta, MT. We feed a high roughage ration to ensure structural soundness when they are turned out to pasture. All bulls have passed a fertility examination. This year we did a DNA analysis called I50k on every bull in the sale. This process increases the accuracy on the EPD’s of each animal. By doing this, it will allow you to be more confident that each bulls EPD’s will more accurately reflect how his offspring will perform. As always we will make every effort to back up these bulls. We are also offering 21 high quality yearling registered heifers and 25 commercial heifers.

We would like to thank our families for all of their hard work over the course of the year. Without them, we could not achieve the work needed to run a farm and ranch. Thanks to Todd and Eva Foran for their many years of service to our ranch. Todd will have a number of his own bulls in the sale that are bred right alongside ours. Tim and Mary McAllister have also been working for us the last nine years and have been outstanding help and a great asset to our operation.

We hope to see you at the sale April 6. Join us for a CAB lunch at noon with the sale to follow at 1:00. The sale cattle will be available for inspection at the ranch anytime. We will be having a burger fry Wednesday evening at 5:30 at the sale barn. This is a great time to preview the cattle and visit with friends. If you are unable to attend, the sale will be broadcast live on www.cattleUSA.com, and you can bid online through Northern Video.

If we can help in any way, please give us a call (406-462-5557) or shoot us an email
