On Thursday April 1st, we will be holding our 34th Annual Production Sale at the ranch North of Hilger (view 2010 sale catalog). This year we will be selling 160 bulls and they look to be our most complete set ever. We have a nice cross-section of calving ease bulls to go along with some more powerful bulls that are sure to add pounds to your calves come weaning time.
In this years crop of bulls, you will find some of the consistent, time tested bulls that we have been using for several years along with some new bulls that you have never seen before.
Sitz Upward 307R is one of our new AI sires that is doing an excellent job in our program. His calves are extra thick, have a lot of length and his daughters are looking like they will make great females.
BC Matrix sires another one of our top groups of calves. We used Matix because of his improved scrotal and milk over his sire OCC Emblazon 854E. His calves are very deep ribbed who are very correct on thier feet with great thickness. His daughters are turning into some of the best cows in the breed and they have near perfect udders.
AAR New Design 4060 is a bull that we have used for several years in our herd. He is an 878 son out of an AAR Really Windy 1205 daughter and he is siring some easy calving, high growth bulls that have good scrotal circumferences. They also should have excellent maternal characteristics.
We also will have sons out of RA Nebraska R110, AAR Ten X 7008 SA, ER Justice N013, Connealy All Around, HARB Hellferstout 726 JH, Sitz Onward 555S, AAR Image Maker 6538 and several others.
We also will be selling 50 top quality females. We will have 20 registered heifers and 30 commercial. They are picked from the heart of the Arntzen replacement’s. Whether you are looking for a 4H project or a group of commercials to add to you herd, we will have a heifer for you.
Everyone is welcome to join us at noon for lunch with the sale to follow at 1 pm. The bulls are fed at Bold's feedlot in Winifred until the first of March then they will be brought back home to the ranch. Stop by any time if you would like to give them an early look.
